My Teaching Philosophy in Practice

My Teaching Philosophy in Practice

I am very passionate about teaching because it fulfills my inner need to give back to my society what I have learned. Also, it is one of the most effective ways to master a certain topic. Therefore, when I prepare a class for teaching, I try my best to thoroughly understand the class topics in order to be able to answer my students’ questions.

When I teach a computer science class, I usually have three different goals.
  • First, I want to make sure that students understand the fundamental concepts I am explaining. For this usually prepare different examples and discussion scenarios that challenge their understanding and make sure those students not only understand the examples but also the concepts behind these examples.
  • Second goal is to make sure that they can apply their understanding of these fundamental concepts on other examples. I usually prepare assignments and applications that require students to use what they learned in both direct and innovative ways to make sure that they understand different concepts thoroughly.
  • Third, students should be able to apply what they learn to real-life situations. For that, I usually prepare additional slides, real-life use cases, and hold discussions.
At RBMI Greater Noida, the teaching and learning are based on rigorous discussions on applied aspects besides the theoretical knowledge.

Dynamism of Management Education

Management education is dynamic in nature and it gets updated with the trends of industry. It is quite obvious also, as management graduates are to be trained and educated as per the needs and expectations of the society to face the challenges of the industries. The skills and decision making capabilities in the changing economic scenario  and dynamic managerial environment will be sharpen only when the teaching learning processes of the institution are updated and relevant. Further, the knowledge transfer methodologies and learning infrastructural supports are also important to create good ambiance for the academics.
Rakshpal Bahadur Management Institute (RBMI) at Greater Noida and Bareilly are carrying the legacy of quality and values based professional education since 1996. To enhance the skills of problem solving and decision making of MBA and BBA students, a holistic approach is followed during day to day academics and co-curricular activities at RBMI. In this context is is worth to mention that management graduates should also understand the concept and importance leadership so that they can lead in the knowledge driven society. In my view the true leader could be defined as follow-
"A true leader is one who creates, fosters and leads the leaders with novel vision , human values and perseverance".
Hence, the focus of academic institutions must be perfectly aligned to develop a true leader among management graduates who can face the challenges successfully. Identifying the potentials of management graduates and fostering that potentials for the benefits of society and economy should be the main focus of curriculum and academics for MBA or BBA courses.  At this stage I would like to say "Lights of knowledge with the tools of competence and skills can solves the problems of today's society".  Hence, the ignorance and tendency to remain ignorant must be removed and awareness about latest happenings to be created for graduating students of management courses.
The performance and recognition of a good institute on best quality standards are always considered as benchmark for the stakeholders which is followed by others. The management education will have upward trends only for quality oriented institutions which are able to justify Return on Investment (RoI) for students. In last 10 years, the growing numbers of institutions shifted their approach in management education by modifying their curriculum and names of degree they are offering. In some cases, it has not worked ,but the same has successfully implemented in good institutions. It is the relevance syllabus and curriculum along with competency of faculty with infrastructural support that helped such institutions to remain leaders in management education.
